Literary jewels by Jeremy May

Well i love my books but i would have never thought of wearing them as accessories ... If you wonder how that is possible, Jeremy May has the answer: Littlefly jewellery is made by laminating hundreds sheets of paper together, then carefully finishing to a high gloss. The paper is selected and carefully removed from a book, and the jewellery re-inserted in the excavated space.

I found this blog that decided not to let that passer by that catches your eye, to just..pass by - so she photographs them - face and legs.

Pencil Crayon Jewelry by Maria Cristina Belluci

I absolutely love this! i always liked pencils, buying and seeing them on my desk all together like that!
Italian Designer Maria Cristina Bellucci created those original pencil crayon jewelry, after working for several years as a theater costume and accessories maker. The pieces are made using fragments of pencils that have been attached together and formed into a variety of shapes. The forming process reveals the interiors of the pencils, showcasing the wood and the colored lead.

Here's some photographs by Romanian artist Florin Cristescu. They kind of match the mood I'm in...
I like the geometry of his compositions, the powerful lines ... they seem to make the world feel like this abstract space in which humans are just an unexpected appearance.
see more of his work here.

ghost

I just couldn't help myself from posting another video of Sarah Doyle. I like this one 'cause it reminds me of the plastic bag scene from the film American Beauty.

Ghost from Sarah Doyle on Vimeo.

"And that's the day I knew there was this entire life behind things, and... this incredibly benevolent force, that wanted me to know there was no reason to be afraid, ever. Video's a poor excuse, I know. But it helps me remember... and I need to remember... Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world I feel like I can't take it, like my heart's going to cave in. "

I've been thinking for a while now to do a pin-up post, 'cause i like them sooo much ... and it was very difficult for me to choose from the number of pictures that i stacked over time ... so i decided to do a pin up series - you'll get one every Wednesday ... so stay tuned!

a game of cat and mouse

Say hello to ModKat.
The world's smartest looking, most functional
cat litter box
It's got rooftop access and the designers say that your precious pet will enjoy a greater sense of privacy while you'll enjoy a greater sense of cleanliness and smart design. I just don't know if the kittens would really get inside and use it. More details here.

And next..introducing to you the world's first Hamster Shredder. don't be afraid, it doesn't shred hamsters.
Designed by Thomas Ballhatchet, Central St. Martins College of Art and Design, this is a cage in which the hamster, while using it’s wheel, operates a paper shredder to renew bedding. The design made it top ten at the British Council in Milan.

wallpaper in transition

Danish textile designer Lene Toni Kjeld of Wall Decoration presents a new collection of wallpaper designs called Meta One.
The cool thing about it is the concept of blending patterns : "The collection consists of 8 patterns, including 4 hybrids. By means of transitionwallpaper, so called hybrids, it is possible to combine 2 different repeat patterns. And this is what makes Wall Decoration a special collection. By blending 2 patterns, or even more, you can decorate your home in a more individual way, and bring up different atmospheres." enjoy more here.
